YOUTH CAMP 2026: Branding
Project Spotlight: FAN THE FLAME
Designing for a mission you care about changes everything. This project holds deep personal significance for me: not only was it created for the camp I’ve attended since 2nd grade, but it also marks a milestone in my role as Foursquare’s Central District Design Intern.
The Creative Vision & Process After assisting with the finalization of last year’s PAUSE camp visuals, I set out to level up my technical approach by bridging Illustrator and Photoshop through complex digital layering. Leveraging the newly free Affinity Suite, I was able to bring a long-imagined concept to life: FAN THE FLAME. By integrating a dynamic flame directly into the letterforms, I captured the fun, bold nostalgic look of classic camp apparel while injecting a fresh, modern flair.
Real-World Impact Traveling to four different camps utilizing the theme taught me invaluable lessons about functional design. Seeing artwork on a screen is satisfying, but observing an entire community interact with it—turning assets into stickers, sketching the logos, and framing entire speaking messages around the visuals—brought the project full circle.
Design is about bridging the gap between our talents and our callings. This project was an incredible opportunity to use visual storytelling to serve the next generation and remind students that they each have a spark ready to be lit.
